Terms of Service

The rules for playing Build a Syndicate. Plain English, no padding. Read them once and you will know where you stand.

The short version

1. Who can play

You must be 18 years or older to use Build a Syndicate. By making an account you confirm that you are. The game is a crime fiction: it contains simulated criminal activity and simulated gambling, and it is not designed or marketed for children.

If we find out an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete the data behind it. There is no appeal for that one.

2. This is a game, and only a game

Everything in Build a Syndicate is fiction. Jobs, raids, wars, territory and the rest are strategy mechanics wearing a mafia coat. Nothing in the game encourages, teaches or endorses real crime.

The casino inside the game (slots and poker) is simulated gambling played with in-game currency only. You cannot deposit real money into it, you cannot win real money out of it, and there is no payout of any kind. No real money is ever won or paid out.

In-game cash, gold, chips, items, units and territory have no real-world value. They cannot be exchanged for money, sold for money, or transferred off the service. Buying gold buys a game benefit, not an asset.

3. Your account

4. Fair play

The server decides everything that matters: every battle, payout and clock is computed server-side. Trying to get around that is the fastest way to lose the account.

5. Names

Usernames, display names and syndicate names go through a filter, including common letter-for-number swaps. The line is simple: edgy is fine, slurs and filth are not. A criminal alias fits the setting. Slurs, hate terms and sexual filth do not, and the filter will refuse them. Names that get past the filter but break the spirit of this rule can be changed or removed.

6. Purchases

The game is free to play. Two optional things are sold:

Both buy in-game benefits only. Gold buys time back and status, never units, gear, cash or power that a free player cannot reach.

Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted checkout pages. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. Your purchase is granted when Stripe confirms the payment.

Refunds. If something went wrong with a purchase, open a ticket in the in-game Support system and explain what happened. We look at every request and we will not hide behind a form. Because payment is handled by Stripe, a refund that is agreed is issued back through Stripe to the original payment method. Your statutory rights in your own country are not affected by anything on this page. Nothing here is meant to take away a legal right you have where you live.

V.I.P is a subscription and it renews until you cancel it. To cancel, open a ticket in the in-game Support system and ask us to end it. We will cancel it and tell you when it stops.

7. Early access, changes and world resets

Build a Syndicate is in beta / early access. That means the honest version of this: content, balance, prices, features and systems can change, be added, or be removed at any time. Numbers you rely on today can be tuned tomorrow.

The game can also reset a world. A reset wipes progress in that world and starts it fresh. Players in the world get an in-game warning shortly before it happens. This is a real capability and we would rather you learn it here than the hard way. In-game purchases are consumed inside this reality, so buy with that in mind.

8. Bans, suspensions and appeals

Breaking these rules can get your account suspended for a set time or permanently banned. We aim to be proportionate: a first small mistake is not the same as running a bot farm. Serious things, like cheating, alt farming or abuse of other players, can go straight to permanent.

If you are banned you can appeal from the login screen. You prove the account is yours with your password, then write your appeal. You get one open appeal at a time, and a new one replaces the old one, so make it count. Appeals are read by a human.

9. What you post

Chat messages, direct messages, group messages, names and support tickets are stored on our server so the game works and so moderation is possible. Keep it inside the rules in section 4. We can remove content and act on accounts that break them. See the Privacy Policy for how long things are kept.

10. No warranty

The service is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, free of bugs, or free of data loss. We do not promise your progress will survive forever. We run it carefully and fix what breaks, but this is a live, in-development game run by one operator, not a bank.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the game. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

We may change, suspend or end the service. If the service closes for good, we will say so in-game and on the Discord with as much notice as we reasonably can.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account from in-game Settings. It goes invisible immediately and is erased permanently after a short grace period, during which logging back in restores it. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We can update these terms. When we do, we change the version string at the top of this page. The current version is 2026-07-20. If a change is significant, we will flag it in-game. Carrying on playing after a change means you accept the new version.

13. Contact

Everything goes through the in-game Support system, which reaches the operator directly. There is a Support option on the login screen too, if you cannot get in. You can also find us on Discord.
